Ovarian complex cyst

I had both my ovaries and Fallopian tubes by key hole surgery with a hystoscopy and D and C.This is after I had tv ultrasound and mri that found a 5cm cyst.I am concerned that I won't be back to clinic for five weeks from surgery.The blood result 125 was within normal range.Is It normal to wait for biopsy results.for 5 weeks.

  • Hi Belle1234 and welcome to the forum.

    As our members will tell you, the wait for biopsy results can differ quite a lot but if you're worried maybe you could get in touch with the department that carried out your ultrasound as they should be able to tell you how long it will be before the results come back. Alternatively you could get in touch with your doctor as they may be able to chase this on your behalf.

    Fingers crossed you're not waiting too much longer and that good news comes your way when the time comes.

    Thanks for input.Its just that I thought results would be quicker.Gp surgery seemed to think appointment only 2 weeks away now.But I can't get a 5 week delay.I had ultrasound and mri prior to surgery.

    There are sometimes queues to see the specialists - it took me 2 months rather than the target 2 weeks to see a specialist due to queues, although they did manage some tests first so things did move but slowly and I couldn't get to discuss those initial results properly for 2 months. The GPs couldn't explain it at all when I asked them and said they had never known delays, so I guess they are just very very detached from the hospitals when they give you timescales.  I did then get an appointment for biopsy results for 3 weeks after operation so a bit quicker.
