So many tests before hysterectomy

Hi I'm new to this but am feeling so worried.  My journey started in August when I was in the sick feeling exhausted and continuous diarrhoea.  Blood tests ca125 slightly raised referred for pelvic ultrasound which showed mass on both ovaries was told I would have surgery at local hospital.  Then consultant called me to go back to gave  further blood tests a tumour marker.  Called again this was slightly raised I had been discussed at MDT with another hospital.  Had appt at other hospital with consultant was awaiting date for hysterectomy.  Had pre assessment yesterday given date for Tuesday felt ok about this then got a call on afternoon saying different consultant doing op and need a ct scan now which I'm having tomorrow got myself in a terrible state worrying why? In between all of this my mam has had a stroke this week!

  • Hi Kelly18

I'm not surprised that you've gotten into a pickle with everything that's been going on, especially with your Mum being ill this week too.
I do hope that all went smoothly with your CT scan yesterday. We know that when plans are changed that it can cause lots of uncertainty and that can be very unsettling. Having planned for your surgery tomorrow it's bound to have left you with more questions that your new Consultant has asked for further tests. However, it sounds as if the Dr wants to make sure that they've got all possible information available to them before going forward with the operation which is a positive thing.

Have you been told when they'll reschedule your hysterectomy? Hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

I hope that Mum is OK and being well cared for. I know you'll be worried about her too.
Keep in touch Kelly and let us know how you get on.
    Best wishes,
