Bia-alcl and thronging pain and lymph nodes swollen

Hi all,

Thank god I found this forum but I have
never ever posted on a forum in my life so here goes!

For 6-7 weeks i've had pain intermittently and swelling in my right breast (allergan textured implants in 2012-to replace allergan smooth implants in 2000)... Been referred to breast clinic (appt Monday 4th Nov) the pain is getting too much, the swelling is  my breast under arm and up to clavicle & my lymph nodes in area are swollen.

In 2000 months after first implants I was diagnosed with under active thyroid, 180 mcg levothyroxine until 2013 they said it was dead.... Did not function.... Roll on 2012/13 I had an overactive thyroid and saw an immune system Dr who said that can't happen !? I have taken no levothyroxine since 2012 and thyroid is stable

My blood work has always (2-3 years shown neutropenia intermittently and raised esonophils!?

I'm seeing breast clinic but I want to see haematology... Something is going on

Hopefully all you lovelies get good news or at least the treatment needed and then good news and it's so positive to know if it is the worst you can recover

Also lots of mentions of allergan 2012? I wonder if a link? xx

  • Hello Dontlikepesto (funny username, I take it you really do not like pesto?)

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum - thank you for joining and posting your story. I wanted to wish you the best of luck for your appointment on Monday I hope that you will get some definite answers as to what is causing this pain. I am sure you will be in good hands at the breast clinic and that they will know exactly what needs to be done and what the next steps will be. Perhaps when you go to the breast clinic on Monday you could mention these concerns to them and see whether they have any advice for you or whether you also need to be referred to the haematology department. If you are worried, perhaps you could also consider getting a second opinion on this. You can find out more about this on this page

Keeping everything crossed for you for Monday. I hope your appointment goes well!

    Best wishes,
