Lump in breast - at the breast clinic tomorrow

I'm 33 and I've found one in my right breast and I can only feel it when laying down. Two days after I spoke to the doctor I found a small pea sized lump in my right arm pit. I'm at the breast clinic tomorrow and worried sick.

Its been over a week since I found the lump and its still the same size so I don't think its to do with my cycle.

I'm trying to just stay calm. The doc thinks it's a fibrodenoma so trying to keep positive.

  • Goodluck hun, I'm 38 and in the breast clinic tomorrow to find our what the lump is. The ladies on here are so supportive and gave great advice. Stay off Google its the devil n hope you get the answers u need xxxxx

  • Ah let me know how you get on.

I've just got back, they gave me an ultrasound, they said the lump in my armpit was just a lymph node and was just more visable as I'm slim. The lump on my breast had all the classic characteristics of a Fibroadenoma so they said no biopsy was needed due this and also because of my age.

For some reason I still feel worried, I just wish they would biopsy it.

  • [@Mumtobeauts]‍  how did you get on today? X

  • Hi Emilou

im glad you got the news you were hoping for. I wouldn't worry, they are very trained and amazing at diagnosing just from ultrasound - before my mum got her biopsy results she was told it was cancer just from ultrasound and my mum asked what is the % of them getting it wrong - it's very slim, and unfortunately in my mums case was cancer. So please feel assured that they would have biopsied if they were concerned, but still be aware of changes in your breast as it sounded like you were very prompt once you found a lump.

    keep well x

  • Heya hun ,

Sorry been working evenings and trying to catch up I  house work. Glad you've been told its Fibroadenoma hub. I got told that initially,  then the radiographer did an ultrasound due to my age and said he was happy it was lipoma , basically a fatty lump , he then did a biopsy but was 100 percent it was fine and was just for my anxiety which I get the results in 3 weeks.

Hope your okay , I understand how you feel about having not having the biopsy due to feeling anxious. My daughter also had a lump in her armpit and is due to be seen on the 21st the last day of our holiday , she is also very slim.

I do understand how you feel , I have been told 8.5 or 9 cases referred are not the C. But can also be frustrating to feel dismissed due to age as it can happen and has to some lovely ladies out there. Not sure on cost privately for peace of mind hit I was reassured from the radiographer he was very confident and it's what they do. The first guy didnt believe , but once I had the scan I felt so much better , they must have seen so many pictures that are worrying and not so know the difference . I get my results in 3 weeks but I'm not concerned at all and I'm a born worrier!

I would keep your eye on any changes and go back to docs , the radiographer said to me that dont dismiss anything in future because it was A ok the first time and always visit the docs where this is concerned.

Hope you feel better and keep your eye out for changes lovely xxx

  • Sorry for the delay I've been so poorly with the flu, thanks for your reply. I am a little calmer now but still a little worried too. I will keep an eye on any changes like you said and if I need to I will go back.

Let me know how you get on too. Xx
