Welcome to Cancer Chat Sophie although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.
Unfortunately there haven't been many discussions about plasma cell leukaemia on the forum recently but our members understand all too well the impact a cancer diagnosis can have on a family so I'm sure you'll get some support and advice from them soon.
If you do want to connect with others who have the same diagnosis as your husband it may be worth popping on the MyelomaUK website.
Best wishes to you and your family at this difficult time,
Kind regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
Hello
my husband also has Plc diagnosed in February late stage. If I can support or help I will gladly. I know just how you feel the shock and helplessness of it all and because of the rarity little current information on this disease.
Thank you so much for responding. My husband was diagnosed in May and sadly died 3 weeks ago. It was incredibly sudden, he got very poorly over the course of a single day really. Still reeling from the diagnosis let alone his death. He was extremely unlucky. How is your husband?
Hi my father was ill for a short while the doctor said it was a sprain gave him dizapam for 6 weeks then he collapsed and he has plasma cell Leukemia but it's hard as he looks so well
Hi my Dad was diagnosed with Plasma Cell Leukaemia at the beginning of October - he had been told it was a muscle strain. He has had 4 cycles of treatment and doing quite well, gets quite tired but generally well. It's hard to get your head around when they look ok. Been looking for information but there is next to nothing out there.....
I was saddened to read of your husbands Ppcl diagnosis and all the others recently diagnosed on here. My husband was also diagnosed with ppcl in Feb 2019 and again later stage now post transplant and on consolidation chemo. I can empathise with how you feel searching for information and answers on the web which is mostly outdated and not positive. Did your husband have the flu jab prior to falling ill as mine did and was poorly from then on if I can help let me know
So sorry for your loss it all must be very raw for you still. Did your husband receive chemo before falling ill. My husband developed sepsis recently and within an hour became unresponsive . I was told an hour later and treatment would have been too late. Your post reminded me of why we have to be vigilant with this cancer constantly. Please take care
