I'm a little confused - where is the mole? Is it on your face, hence the GP comment re 'vanity reasons'?

You are getting terrible treatment from your GP practice and I would be making a complaint to the practice manager. Can you afford to pay for a private consultation with a dermatologist so they can assess if it's a dodgy mole or a benign skin lesion? You certainly shouldn't be messed about like this.

No its actually on my right side of my lower back...and thats why it was a stupid comment to make wasn't it 'vanity' reasons....

Also look at this 7 point checklist that GP's use to decide on referral. If you score 3 points or more then they should refer you. Your practice, like some in the UK, have a GP that is trained in dermatology and removal which helps relieve the pressure on the hospitals. However, if they didn't have this facility you should have expected to have it checked out and possibly removed at the hospital by now so they are failing you. cks.nice.org.uk/skin-cancers-recognition-and-referral
