hello everyone

I have lung cancer, a rare aggressive type, just had news from the doctor that the lung resection has not got rid of it, there are several small spots in both lungs.

Not really sure what to do now. They are going to proceed with chemo and immunotherapy, but the hope seems only to prolong things rather than cure.

  • Hello Simon

Welcome to the forum. I'm really sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that the surgery wasn't able to clear it all. I'm sure that was difficult news for you to hear.

It sounds positive that there are still treatment options available to you.

I'm guessing from your post that you have some unanswered questions. Lots of members here have found it really helpful to write down any questions they want to ask and take the list with them to an appointment. We all know how in the moment our mind can go blank and having those questions written down can be a big help.

Although you have said your particular type of cancer is rare, we've quite a few members here who will be able to indentify with how you might be feeling at the moment. Hopefully some of them will be along to say Hello.

If you'd like to speak to one of our team of nurses at any point then please do give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Keep in touch Simon.

    Best wishes,
