Sorry if this is horrible. I have a soft, skin coloured lump inside my anus. I’ve had it for years, it’s not sore but I’m concerned about it. Can anyone give me any advice?

Hello mills.louise
Sorry to hear that you have a health concern. We would always advise that anyone who is worried about a lump make an appointment to see their GP.

Hi did you find out what it was because I have the exact same thing and with coronovirus happening my doctors are shut so cannot get there, thanks?
Hi Charlotte,
Are you sure that your GP is shut? Most GPs stopped seeing routine patients at the beginning of lockdown, but they are continuing to consult with their patients. Where possible, they are doing this via telephone, but if this is not possible, they are seeing patients.
Phone your surgery tomorrow and ask for an urgent appointment. If you tell the receptionist what it is for, you should get one soon. If your GP feels that there is anything untoward, you will be referred for tests.
I hope that all goes well for you. Do please let us know how you get on. We are alwaays here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi, do you have any ideas on what the lump could be? I am living with a very vunderable person so I haven't left the house since all this coronovirus started happening so I don't think it will be possible for me to go to the doctors at the moment. I know that you can't diagnose anything but do you have any ideas on what it could be or symptoms of certain lumps , thanks
Hi Charlotte,
I don't think that anybody could tell what the lump could be without examining it, or at least seeing it. Your GP might ask you to send a picture of the area, if you can take one. I am not a doctor. It could be something simple like a pile, or it could be something more sinister.
Whichever it is, you are as well to get it checked out as soon as possible. Is there nobody that you could call on to look after your charge for a couple of hours? Discuss this with your GP and see what s/he advises.
Do please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
