I'm sorry about the lump you've found but you did the right thing by seeing your doctor and hopefully you'll get some answers as to what this may be from the scan.

I think quite a lot of our members have experience of having scans for their lumps and bumps so hopefully some of them will be along soon to share their experiences with you.

In the meantime, try to stay busy and away from Google as it will only make your fears and worries worse.

thankyou I have been to see m gp again she has refferred me to the local hospital on the 2 week rule saying i will be seen and scanned within this time if i need a biopsy they might also do this on the day anyone else heard about the 2 week rule

Don't know if you are a male or female, my mother has lump for 15 years , after which it was identified as cancerous,  so don't worry  it might be just a slow growing thyroid nodule
