Hi, about 3 years ago my mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer, she went through radiotherapy and chemotherapy and had a stint with a colostomy bag and we thought it was all gone and life could go back to normal but after a routine scan last week they've found that the tumour has come back which has come as a complete shock as my mum has, in her words, "felt great" for the past year.
Unfortunately my family has dealt with a lot over the last year, with both my paternal grandparents passing away in October and December and it had only just felt like things were starting to get back to 'normal'. My mum is obviously devastated, and my dad and younger brother are trying to stay strong for her, sadly I'm not the strong type and have already broken down at work about it after someone asked how my weekend had been- don't worry I'm looking into counseling, as is my mum.
I just wanted to find somewhere that I could get advice on how to best help my mum (At 23 I still live with them so will be able to provide a lot of support at home) and have somewhere that I can just chat to people who understand what this is all like.
Thank you for reading x
