Large Ovarian Mass Found

New to forum , just wondered if anyone has any advice as l have been reading a few threads and thought l would try get some answers as l feel lost ......here goes

Approx 7wks ago had some bloods done regarding Low Vit D as requested by Gp, results came back , as suspected Vit D low , but kidney and liver were not quite right and hemaglobin levels were also high.Gp refered me for ultrasound which took place within the week just to check liver and kidney function. During Ultrasound l knew something wasn't quite right and was advised 3 large cysts had been found one was approx 13 cm , l was told to make an app with Gp in a week as Results would be looked at and forwarded on. 5 days later Gp called requesting l attend surgery that morning .

Findings were a large Suspicious / Complex mass in pelvis 18.3/ 13.7 cm , Gp done urgent 2week referral to Gynaecologist who l saw within 2 weeks who said he want a CT Scan with Contrast and  CA 125 and would review findings with MDT on 2nd Sept ( CT done on 31st Aug )..( had CA125 done by Gp after Ultrasound and were normal )

I was just wondering how long before l will hear back from Gynaecologist  it's all happening so fast , and l can't shake this gut feeling it's going to be a bit of a journey ahead but an even stronger feeling that l will come out the other side ........it's the not knowing , l can face what lies ahead if l know , l just feel like some one has pressed pause on my life .

Sorry for long post any advice would be greatly appreciated , thanku

  • Hello JacobsMommie,

A warm welcome to our forum. The not knowing and feeling like your life has been put on hold is the worst thing indeed. Many on our forum can relate to what you are going through at the moment. I hope that you won't have to wait too long to hear back from the gynaecologist. Perhaps you could try and give your hospital or surgery a call to try and find out whether they have an idea how long it could take to get some news.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online as it only tends to bring up the worst case scenarios.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Thankyou

I rang the hospital on Friday, they said that MDT have a limited amount of time to review cases, and advised that l am on the list to be reviewed Tomorow, Gynaecologist Secretary was very nice and assured me that l will here within the week. So as l am moving on Thursday l have had plenty to keep me occupied.

  • Hiya, I just wondered if you could let me know what the outcome of the MDT meeting was? I'm in the same position at the moment and my case is being reviewed Thursday morning.
