Biopsy results.

Hi,

I’m new here and I’m just after a little reassurance really?!

I had a Colposcopy after an urgent smear referral following the discovery of possible CGIN roughly two weeks ago. The consultant took a biopsy and told me that I would receive my results in the post.

Well - yesterday, I received a phone call asking me to go today to see the consultant to discuss my results and have a scan. It obviously came as a bit of a shock as I wasn’t expecting it so I was just wondering if anybody else had had this happen? I asked if I had anything to be worried about and the lady said that I just really needed to go in and see them. Also, I’ve absolutely no idea what type of scan to expect - has anybody any ideas??

Thank you so much.x

  • Hiya Eaton,

Yep - that is what I was told too so it can only be a positive thing. My MRI was just under an hour.

    Hope you hear something soon!!!

  • Hi VicKat1

how are you and how are things progressing?, have you had all the results back yet from  your mri and ct scan?

Still hoping that all is positive for you. Xx

  • Hi Eaton,

I have a radical hysterectomy booked on Monday. Can't say that I'm not anxious about it if I'm honest. How are things for you??

  • Hi VicKat1

I just want to wish you the best of luck for Monday and try and stay positive, I can’t blame you for feeling apprehensive but you are in good hands and you will then be rid of this horrible thing for good.

i got my results yesterday stage 1b2 . I too need to have a radical hysterectomy on 4th Nov  but they also have booked me in on the 30th October to remove the lymph nodes first to double check there are no signs of cancer even though scans came back clear. So will still have to wait until the 1st Nov until I know for definite.

My next dilemma is whether to have keyhole or open surgery and need to let them know on the 30th. What are you having?

  • Ahhhhh - I'm so sorry to hear that a Eaton! At least you know now - I found the waiting was by far the worst bit. I was advised to have abdominal surgery as apparently recent research has shown that there is a (marginally) better success rate. I figured that the professionals know what they're talking about so went with what they suggested (although, they didn't pressure me at all)

I'm just waiting now and very apprehensive but at least it'll all be over soon. I'll keep you posted on how I get on and thank you for asking how I am

Good luck with your decision making.xxxx

  • Hi VicKat1

Thoughts and prayers are with you today. As you say it will be over soon.

I was aware of the research and over  the weekend I decided to have open Surgery too. Longer recovery but hopefully longer life!

    Take care xxx
