Referral - to breast clinic

hello everyone

alot of you have probably been in this position

ive had a referral as I found a lump in my right breast, when I went to the gp she was sure it was a part of my breast but found another in the left breast which was the decider on a referral

anyway I have another 6 days to go till the appointment and a thousand things are running around in my head

im now finding other lumps about halfway between armpit and breast, my left breast has shrunk but then was it like this before I started checking 5000 times a day since the initial GP appointment although the difference is 1 1/2 inches at least, am I just looking for things now, feels like I’m going crazy

thanks

  • Hello Claires44,

I can understand it's difficult but try not to worry. Your appointment is not far away and hopefully it can reassure you. You can read more about referrals here.

  • Hi Claire

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about your worries. It’s a really worrying time when you’ve been referred isn’t it? And our brains naturally try to work out all scenarios.

Mots normal to start noticing every little thing, I developed other aches and pains that I’d never had before as well.  Try not to keep prodding and poking or you will make yourself sore.

When you go to your appointment they will ask you to talk about what you are worried about and check everything out. A lady on here once said to me it’s not worth worrying about something until it is something as it won’t change anything and she was right of course.

Remember the majority of referrals turn out to be nothing. Are you taking someone with you to the appointment for support? Also stay away from google, it’s not helpful. Sending you a hug.

    Keep in touch

    WL
