Hi everyone.have had metastatic prostate cancer for 2 years, and starting Radio therapy on Thursday any advice
Hi Kev22,
Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis that bring you here.
I noticed that you're due to start your treatment tomorrow but hadn't had any responses yet. Hopefully you'll see this post before your appointment.
We've some information on our website about radiotherapy for prostate cancer which may be of interest to you.
I'm going to tag in [@Billygoat] and [@woodworm] who are two of our regular members who have both been through radiotherapy for prostate cancer. Hopefully one of them will pop by to share some of their advice and tips for getting through the next few weeks.
If you'd like to speak to our team of nurses about anything do give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.
Sending our best wishes aheaad of your treatment starting tomorrow.

Hi Kev
Welcome to Cancer Chat.
I had 37 sessions of radio therapy. I bought some imodioum instants These were very effectivein stopping me getting the runs
My wife bought some simple soap and luckily I had no problems at all The nurses told me I would probably feel tired when getting towards the end of my 37 treatments and they advise when I got home to just go and have I lie down for a few minutes which realy helped.
They willalso make sure you drink pleanty of water before your treatment begins. I was always asked if I had drunk plenty of water and one day I replied If I drink any more I will look like a flaming camel
Wishing you good results and please let us know how your getting on, Brian
