Cervical polyp found on internal pelvic ultrasound

So I’m constantly reading these forums but never get round to posting myself .. so here I go

I’m 32 I have three children and I’ve pretty much had abnormal smears since first having a smear at 25. Always abnormal - mild changes - had a colposcopy and I biopsy in 2015 all ok just mild so put to 3 year smear. - also positive for hpv 16.

Had my smear 11 months ago - again abnormal mild changes hpv 16 still there.

So after intercourse about three weeks ago I bled .. only for a day but not period related. Period had been 12 days before..

went doctors - 2 week referral

I had a pelvic internal ultrasound today - polyps found

im seeing gynaecologist oncologist tomorrow

so really I’m just looking for someone that’s had similar symptoms???

Obv I know polyps aren’t always cancer .. but I know there’s also a risk .. Has anyone had a similar experience ?

Hi, I’m kind of going through the same thing although my sonography wouldn’t say what it was just “something’s there”. At least you are getting seen quickly and I hope you get more info soon if your seeing gynaecologist today. Are you in the UK? I had two ultrasound and vaginal wand scans and waiting for my GP to get back to me only thing sonographer said was I’ll need more tests. I’ve been on the pill for years, no kids, but bleeding after sex, sex uncomfortable feeling, had clear smear a couple of months back but that means nothing. It’s the waiting that’s the hardest part, just want to know what is wrong. Good luck, let us know how you get on x
