Hi,
The title says it all really, I have never felt the need to post in a forum, yet here I am at 23:14 unable to sleep asking for advice/reassurance from total strangers.
Around 2-3 months ago I noticed I was looking a little “jowly” under my chin on the left hand side, didn’t think much more of it and put it down to hitting 40. Last week I found a pea sized lump on my jaw line, quite hard...I proceeded to give it a prod and poke as I examined it. I decided to contact my local dentist (getting into the doctors is a nightmare) to see if it is anything I should be concerned about. Following a clean bill of health from my dentist, he advised I see my GP, over the course of the weekend the lump which I believe to be a lymph node has grown in size and one in the same spot on the right hand side of my jaw has appeared. The lumps are hard in nature with no tenderness.
The jowly area appears to also have worsened. I have no other symptoms, no sore throats, cold or night sweats etc.
i visited an out of hours centre who has referred me for an ultra sound scan.
Googling has put the fear of god in me. I called my GP today as I felt the appt with the out of hours clinic (I was in and out within 2 minutes) left me with a lot of unanswered questions. The receptionist says my referral has been placed, this is a routine request and there is a 6 week wait.
is this normal as in the wait for routine scans?
has anyone else experienced similar symptoms?
any advice whatsoever would be appreciated
x
