extremely worried

Hi all,

First time on here and wanted to share my worries.

It all started earliery on in the year, I felt a tinly little bump right of my ribs, I started to panic and started looking up DR google and everything leads to Cancer. I booked an appointment to see GP who immiedately told me it was a Lipoma and assured me I had nothing to worry about. So I went on in my life, around may, one day I started to feel right side of my lower Abdomen felt harder and heavier compared to my left, so i kept feeling to see if there was any lumps, lo and behold, I felt a lump and again started to panic, I went to an emergency walk in and emailed my GP at the same time, lucky my GP called me and was able to see me. Again after feeling my stomach left right and centre, assured me I have nothing to worry about. I went on my way, but it kept playing on my mind, so I actually went to get a second opion from a private practice, who then told me the same, but suggested a Ultra sound, so I did it through private, did the scan, (abdominal wall only).

All came back normal, just normal tissue and fat. I thought all my problems were over. Then over the next two months, I would get these random pressure, pulling or ache on my lower abdomen. It kept coming and going, some days would be fine, some days would be worst. As it kept coming and going, it really delayed me from going to see GP. Then last week for a few days, I kept feeling a poking feeling on my lower abdomen. Enough was enough, Ive been so worry and stressed.

I went to see GP, again, GP checked my stomach, check my blood pressure, tempreture. heart right was a little high, but ive been very anxious. he then told me, that lipomas sometimes hurt, and as I have had no other symptoms, he is not worried, but wanted me to get a blood test and a Ultrasound which will help ease my mind. This week, no stomach problems, had my blood test on tuesday, painless and thought I will have to wait till next week to hear results. Every night, I have been worried sick reading and reading. I been taking Nytol to help me sleep at night(family on holiday) so felt a bit lonely. Tuesday night, after having some southern fried chicken from the oven, my stomach felt really unfortable and had watery stool. Which has sent me into panic mode. Wednesday night, watery stool a few times before bed, Thursday the same and today (friday the same). No sign of blood. Oh i forgot to mention, I was able to pass normal stoll when i got home from work, but after dinner, watery stool. I am so worried. I am seeing the GP tomorrow as my blood test came back (after two days) the receiption said my blood test all came back normal but it says on the system to book an appointment. Which has sent me in to panaic and confusion.

I have tried to convice myself my loose stool is because of my bad diet. Saturday BBQ, Sunday morning Bacon Sandwiches and then Doner meat and chip. Monday Bacon Baugette for lunch, dinner teriyaki chicken breast and noodles (cooked myself), tuesday Burger and chips lunch, dinner southern fried chicken, wednesday Gregs - sausage cheese and bean mealt, Sausage roll and choclate chip cookie for Lunch, dinner 1 chicken keiv and left over Chicken terayki chicken and noodles (couldnt finish it all), Thursday KFC for lunch, Chicken Keiv for dinner, with a chicken ceaser salad. Today (friday) Burger and chips for lunch.

I am so worried, i am trying to tell myself the loose stools are concidence but back of my mind i telling myself it is not.

Im so sorry if any one reading this is thinking what the hell, I just blurting everything out in one go.

  • Hi there

lipomas in torso is quite common and having had ultrasounds these fatty tissues have been confirmed to you. Your blood tests have also came back normal so nothing to worry about there. Looking at your diet you appear to consume a lot of fat, I think that amount would give anyone loose stools.

Perhaps you could introduce some fibre into your diet over the next couple of days to see if that helps with your bowel movements. I’ve got a feeling your diet is the problem.

  • Hi Magpiemaggie,

Thank you for your reply. I hope that is the case - and everything that is happening is all triggered by my diet and my worrying.

  • Hi Baziy, think would be a really good idea to try to get some fruit and veg into your routine.  You don't have to have chef skills and it isn't necessarily expensive. If you need help I'd be happy to post some suggestions for meals you could do quickly and cheaply and without a pile of washing up.

  • Hi Vplum,

i have tried to. For last month ive been drinking alot more water. Morning I am eating at an apple, fruit or a pear with some sort of breakfast bar. Evening i will eat at least an apple, pear and grapes.

I will be greatful with some tips though. Thank you

  • Hi, I'm not a qualified nutritionist but maybe its too much fruit and that is making your stools runny. I'd try vegetables. Easiest is probably a roasted medley ( to have with meat as a side, not the main event). So you very roughly chop an onion, a red pepper, a green pepper, two courgettes. You stick them in an oven proof dish with a couple of tomatoes. Dribble olive oil over the lot and after about 30 mins ( keep an eye on it) you should have something tasty and which gives you fibre for your tummy. Plus loads of vitamins. Give it a try! X
