Young mum and beside myself - worries about breast cancer

Hi there, I’m new here and hoping for some support. I’m a 26 year old mother to my gorgeous 19 month old daughter and I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant with baby number two. Yesterday, I found a lump in my boob whilst in the shower. After googling I’ve gotten myself into a complete and utter state. It is very small. Smaller than a pea, round, smooth but very firm and it doesn’t seem to move. The lack of movement concerns me. I think it can wiggle from side to side but it certainly doesn’t move around freely or bounce away when pressed on. Of course I’m now convinced I have breast cancer. I’m just wondering if anyone ever had a lump like this that turned out benign? I’ve got an ultrasound Thursday and I already feel sick. Thanks so much in advance. Cherelle.

  • Hi there ...

I had one just the same many years ago .. but it was fine .. then I had 3 more call backs over the years .. from hard flat pebble lump .. to movable ones .. no one told me 8.5 out of ten lumps are benign... so I panicked each time ... all benign... and the younger you are , the odds are even better .. not impossible but really good odds .. so your lump could well be milk ducks comming in for new baby .. hormones too ..  if they do send you on a two week refural, don't panic it's normal for all lumps and bumps ... they are extra cautious now ..

Fingers crossed .. let us know how it goes ...  Chrissie x
