Hi there,
This is my first post, which I was not expecting to be doing at this stage of my life.
Last Tuesday, I had a mammogram and ultrasound as found a lump on my left breast which they said is a cyst, however, they went on to say that my right breast has 'supiscious calcifications' so did a biopsy. A follow up appointment was made for Friday 28th to discuss the results.
I then had a phone call a few days after asking me to come back for a vacuum assisted biopsy as they reviewed the mammogram and as the calcifications are spread over a wide area, they wanted to do another sample. I had this done yesterday but as the results would take a few days, they cancelled the original follow appointment from this Friday to next Friday.
I was so distraught having to wait another week (and go through the agonising ups and downs) but the kind pathologist told me unofficially that the results from the first biopsy are benign which is positive news and a huge relief.
This has made me feel more positive, however, I don't want to assume that the other sample will be clear as well but would like to think that if it's benign in one part of the breast, the other part should be clear ??
I'm trying to stay positive and carry on as normal but its so hard not to worry. Has anyone else experienced the same?
Thank you for taking the time to read.
