Hi  there - I'm sorry you are worrying like this & feeling as tho' you are not coping. I can't say, I'm afraid, anything about what might be happening to you physically because I have no medical knowledge. However, I do know how worrying it can be having tests & waiting for the results. I've very recently had a number of tests for bowel/lung cancer & know just how scary it is. I have one more test to come but the Consultant doesn't seem unduly worried but is doing it just to be sure. 

This might well be what is happening to you & it is frightening because we do tend to fear the worst don't we? However, my GP tells me that 9 out of 10 people referred for tests for cancer come back clear. They are pretty good odds aren't they & why should you not be one of the 9? :)

Feeling afraid & having moments when we feel we can't cope is perfectly normal I assure you. In fact you are coping because you are here posting & asking for a bit of support which is very sensible of you. :)

People on this site will offer help & advice & I'm sure someone else will be along soon to help. In the meantime try to keep busy doing normal everyday things until you get the results & the time will pass more quickly.

Well your worries make even more sense now that you've told me about losing your friend. That's very sad & I do think as we age our mortality looms larger (I'm nearly 68 so I understand) & losing people close to us & being unwell makes it all so much worse and nearer. Hey ho - it's life isn't it.
