Breast Dent found but results brought good news

Whilst getting dressed last week I noticed a dent in my left breast. It wasn’t visible unless I raised my arm. I immediately felt sick and had an awful feeling about it so rang the doctor who told me to come straight down. I half expected it to be gone when I got there or for the doctor to think I was being over dramatic but instead she frowned said ‘oh yes, that needs checking’ and booked me into the breast clinic 3 days later.

i had a terrible few days Dr Google led me to some awful sites where it all just seemed so hopeless and for the next 3 days all I could think about was how my kids would manage without me.

i attended the clinic yesterday. Had a mammogram and ultrasound and then an appointment with the surgeon who informed me that I have fatty deposits within my breast and that due to my age (45) the breast tissue can change and dimples/dents can appear.

I just want to put this out there for the people like me that come looking for some hope/reassurance whilst waiting for their appointments. It isn’t always the black scary picture that your mind automatically assumes.

You MUST always get it checked (the hospital stressed this yesterday and said I had done well to notice my dent due to where it is) BUT it isn’t always bad so hang in there until you know for sure.
