Hi

My name is Michelle. I was diagnosed with bowel cancer 2015. I had 2 years of treatment, illeostomy, radiotherapy, bowel resection, chemo then illeostomy reversal . Im now 4 years remission. However after chemo, i am now suffering peripheral neuropathy in my feet! I went back to work part time and coped with pregabalin, but was forced to go back full time as my esa was stopped! I have a job where im on my feet 8 hrs a day and im in so much pain daily now i dont know what to do to help. Sorry this is long post x

  • Hi Michelle

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with continued side effects from your treatment. Presumably there is no way that your employer is able to support you with a change or adaptation at work to relieve being on your feet so much.

You might like to give our team of nurses a call on 0808 800 4040 to chat things through with them and see if they are able to suggest anything that may help. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Michelle I too was diagnosed and treated in 2015 all clear so far since, but like you I suffer too with my feet. Reflexology helps but so far not a cure.  Sadly I’m not sure much can be done, I’d be interested if you do come across anything that helps. I must say when I’m in a warm country on the beach there’s no ache haha I need to become a beach bum
