  • Hi hun

Came across your post and just felt for you.

We love our kiddies don't we no matter how old they get.

It's pretty understandable that she is feeling the way she is poor love. Can you try and talk to her and see if she will open up to you. Otherwise maybe chat with the nurses on this site or with McMillan they may be able to help and give better advice than I ever could. It sounds like she is depressed.

Sending love and hugs to you both xx

  • Dear Lesley52,

My heart goes out to you both, we lost my sister to breast cancer 18 months ago and I had a little scare myself this week, thankfully ok.  Your daughter has been through a lot (and you will have gone through it with her I know). It sounds like she needs some immediate support, perhaps starting with her GP and of course the cancer care nurses.. is there anything she loves to do, perhaps that could encourage her and bring her some pleasure.. we often feel at a loss as to how to help those we love.... if it won’t offend anyone to say so I will pray for her, and for you.. it has always helped me when it all gets too much xx

  • I’ve lost 3 sisters and both parents to cancer so it weighs heavy on those of us left and is devastating but to be told your child has it is something you never want to hear My remaining sister and I both have the gene but are in good health I think the main thing my girl worries about is whether it’s been passed on to her daughter, who is too young to be tested at the moment, it has been passed to some of my nephews and nieces Picking up your point about doing things she enjoys she does have a couple of hobbies which she spends a lot of her free time on so that helps a lot Thank you for getting in touch
  • You and your family have certainly had a rotten time of it, I don’t have the words ... I hope your daughter finds more peace of mind... every day is precious. You sound to be a lovely caring mum x
