Neuroendocrine tumours of the lung

These seem to be quite rare. Anybody out there suffering these as well? I have some breathlessness and tiredness but do not suffer with the flushing which is usually a symptom. Quality of life good. Have been on chemo tablets.....Everolimus.... for six months.

  • Hi Neurocan

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad to hear that despite your diagnosis that you're doing well at the moment.

We've quite a few members here who have been diagnosed with NETS although not of the lung that I can see. You might find it helpful to have a look at this thread and maybe post a reply - I'm sure that they'll pop by to say Hello! and make you feel welcome.

I wondered as well if it may be worth getting in touch with NET Patient Foundation who may be able to help put you in touch with others who have been diagnosed with lung NETs.

    Best wishes,

  • I have recently been diagnosed with carcinoid tumour in my upper left lung! ( I had never heard the term carcinoid or NETS before).. suffering from a cough that wouldn't go away   some pain and fatigue I went to the the doctors after it wouldn't clear for 5 weeks , I was sent for x-ray then ct scan then pet scan and then on the 24th of July they told me it was lung cancer. I have just had the bronchoscopy , gastroscopy and nuclear scans then had a call last week to confirm carcinoid tumour I am meeting with the surgeon this Friday and hope to be going for surgery in the next couple of weeks to remove this , they have also mentioned chemo after the operation too.... I just feel a little out off my depth at the moment as I really didn't know anything about this type of cancer before and ne8ther has my network of friends or family so feel I can't discuss this properly.
