Hello and Mum's diagnosis

Hello all!

Thought I'd finally pluck up the courage to join!

Long story short, my mum was diagnosed with grade 4 Ovarian Cancer in November 2018; she's the most precious thing in the world to me and we were always a mother and son team...so yeah, a lot of changes and challenges.

She has a treatment plan and has just finished her first op today; with a potential second surgery to get a small amount of residual cancer from her liver.

Just looking for a bit of a community to be honest as I want to be proactive for my mums sake and not let this pressure get the better of me in the long run!

It's a pleasure to join!

  • Hi there and welcome ...

You sound like an amazing son .. she must be very proud of you..

Well there's lots of us on here with different cancers and different treatments... so if you want to know anything just ask .. after your mum comes home she will need lots of rest ... and it will take a time to get mobile .. esp if she has chemo or radiotherapy after ... she will really need your support then ...

My son was with me through my op.. and his was the first face I saw after ... and be live me, it's the most wonderful thing to have that support .. you don't need to do huge things .. it's the little things that mean the most ... so feel free to ask any questions you have ... there's usually someone that will know ..
