I had my recent smear back in November 2018 which came back with high grade dyskarosis. I was treated at the beginning of December with a loop procedure. 

Ive just had my follow up smear test and despite having several smears before hand (and numerous sweeps whilst pregnant which feel like a smear).... ive never had a painful one. Today i was nearly in tears because it hurt that much having it done. For me thats not normal. Ive searched the Internet/here and cant find anything that relates to what ive had today

ive had some cramping afterwards but the pain was something else..... my nurse wasnt reassuring and just said "is it sore?" and that was it...... is that normal? because i cant see anything about it
