Constant swollen glands

Hi guys,

a relative of mine has had swollen glands for (maybe) 2 months now in the neck area. They are generally a lot more tired, and when they catch a cold, virus or general feel under the weather it really hits them hard, resulting in the drs or time of work.

Just come back of holiday and they have a virus, visited the dr and mentioned the swollen glands, told the dr they didn’t feel the glands were swollen compared to normal, when the dr looked he noticed they were still pretty swollen, but unable to check any further due to the coughing.

Have to go back in a few weeks for a check up, but any ideas what it could be? (Thinking the worst after losing a relative at the beginning of this year to cancer)

thanks guys :)

  • Hi Roxi1603,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. Sorry to hear that your relative is having some trouble at the moment. It's good that they have gone to get it checked and that the doctor is monitoring it. Unfortunately I can't advise on what it might be - it's always best to get specialist medical opinions, specific to your relative.

It's best not to speculate or to dwell on what it could be - although I know this is hard sometimes and we naturally worry.

I hope it's not too long to wait now until the next appointment, and wishing you and your relative the best for getting some answers and a clear path forward.

    Ben
