Hysteroscopy Results

Hello,

I had a Hysteroscopy yesterday and the Gynegologist showed me the images from my womb and said "that white area shouldn't be there" He said it could be a septum but I had no problems conceiving or carrying my two sons, both went to full term problem free. I am Perimenoapusal, aged 52 and haven't had a period for 7 months. I have experienced bleeding post exercise and that is why I was referred.

I am beyond worried about the area of concern. I have not told my parents, siblings or children about the outcome yesterday, I just told them it was routine due to my age to check things out. My husband was there ith me and is being very supportive but is obviously worried too. I have to wait between 2 - 4 weeks for the results. I couldn't sleep last night for worrying and feel very weepy today and alone

  • Hello and welcome

i know exactly how you feel. I had a hysteroscooy in March last year and waited over three weeks for the results. It is tough. I could say try to distract yourself or keep busy doing things you like but that doesn’t always work, I know. Talking on here is good becaus you can lay out your feelings and people understand. I thought very hard about telling my grown up children and sister. My brother had recently passed away from undiagnosed bowel cancer. I did tell them in the end because I just couldn’t hide my distress,  They were shocked and worried about the possibility of cancer but they were very supportive and I was glad that I’d told them. I couldn’t sleep, or settle and nearly jumped out of my skin every time  the phone rang. In the end, after much nagging from them, I went to my GP. He persuaded me to take a short course of diazepam (I was very  reluctant). I took one a day until I got my results and they definitely helped.  I was diagnosed in April with endometrial cancer and from then things moved quickly. I knew what I was dealing with and there was a plan of action. I could do without the diazepam. I finished treatment in October and was given the all clear this April.

I hope my experience helps and that your results arrive soon and are good.
