Hi all,

This is my first post on here and just wondering about anyone’s thyroid FNA experiences. I found a lump in my neck a couple months ago and mentioned it to my gp a little over a month after noticing it. He sent me for an ultrasound straight away and had an appointment within a week. So anyway I went for the ultrasound and the lump I was talking about was fine however they found a nodule on my thyroid which they decided to do an FNA on. The doctor that performed the FNA said the results would go to my gp (wasn’t told how long they would take) so I booked an appointment with the gp a couple weeks later however at that appointment the gp said he was asked to refer me to the hospital and he didn’t have my results. I have my appointment on Monday at the general surgery department at the hospital and just found this a little strange. Has anyone had a similar experience? Will be 4 weeks between the FNA and me getting my results and I’m getting a little antsy. Any advice etc would be greatly appreciated!
