Right sided tonsil mass

Hello, really concerned. I have had pain and partial hearing in my right ear since October last year. Gp reffered me to ENT. All hearing tests and pressure tests came back ok, reffered me for MRI with contest. Called me back in to say I have got a right sided tonsil mass. Dr thought it was my tonsils but explained I have had them out as a child. I have got a constant sore inflamed throat also. The consultant want me to have a biopsy under general anaesthetic to rule out anything sinister. I have read also that you are high risk of tonsil cancer  if you have HPV. Really concerned ️

  • Hi Aimes

While non of us here are medically qualified to diagnose the fact that checks being done is a good thing as it does rule anything sinister out and many of these tests/biopsy come back as nothing sinister at.

All in all I would suggest its better to have checked for peace of mind. As for the tonsils being removed as a child, I did as well when I was 4 but they can grow back in again ( as did mine) so it could well be tonsil issue.

Stay off google as so much mis information and you will be guaratnteed to find something wrong there. Hope all goes well with appointments and keep me posted on progress

Also let me know if you have any further questions or if I can help furher in any way

    regards
