Hello to you all,
My wife was diagnosed with cervical cancer in March and had a radical hysterectomy at the end of April. I enquired about a follow up consultation last week and was told that results were ready but we had to wait to meet the consultant on his return in early June. This will be six weeks following surgery. Is it normal to wait that long? Given there is an MDT, could others not speak to my wife instead of her having to wait another few weeks? We did ask whether we could be given an indication of the results being positive or negative via phone, but they never returned to us, which seems ominous.
My wife has since had her outpatient appointment confirmed for early June. In the letter sent, they advised that if she wanted to have a family member there that would be fine. Is that standard practice or should we be worried?
Best wishes to you all.
