Ovarian cancer but blood clot found in lung

I have ovarian cancer , after my third cycle of chemo I had a scan ,which showed the tumour had shrunk by half ,brilliant news ,it also showed a blood clot  in my lung ,which has ruled out surgery ,I'm now on one type of chemo ,carboplatin ,rather than the original taxol and carbo, ,taxol gave me excruciating leg and foot pain ,so my oncologist stopped it ,I'm giving myself clot busting injections daily. This has been very disappointing and worrying , has anyone else had the same experience.

  • Hi Fenlander

I'm sorry to hear about the blood clot and the complications you've been having. It's understandable that these changes have left you feeling disappointed and worried.

Has the Dr said if surgery is an option if the clot disappears? Hopefully the change in chemo will mean that your leg and foot pain stops.

If you feel that chatting with one of our nurses might help ease some of your concerns then do give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
