Vacuum Biopsy

had my results of my core breast biopsy today... B3 calcifications...probably benign but to be sure theyll do a vacuum biopsy next as a form of treatment and diagnosis....

am definitely feeling happier knowing it’s all going to be sucked out...

its been a few weeks of absolute dread but I feel better now with this next biopsy coming up...

  • Hi Glitter-diva

So glad to hear that you've had the results of your core biopsy and that you're feeling more positive about things. I know lots of people find waiting for results particularly difficult.

Don't forget that if you want to talk to our team of nurses about your results or upcoming biopsy that they are available Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you haven't got to wait too long for your next biopsy. Pop back and let us know how you get on.

  • Hi Hun,

how are you getting on? We are in similar situations however you seem a lot more positive than me! I have 2 lumps (one in each breast) that came back as b3 from the CNB and they said they think it’s either a Fibroadenoma or Bengin Phyllodes Tumours... I went to book my surgery date for removal today and whilst there my consultant said that they wouldn’t know for sure it wasn’t cancer until it’s removed and they can test it all! Now I’m freaking out again, I thought I’d got good news but now he’s telling me they can’t be sure... is this normal? All I can think is that I might have cancer still and the nightmare continues!

    xx

  • I guess I'm feeling positive because I don't have any lumps just calcifications... Which if I've understood correctly if cancerous can only be very very early stage and my consultant said only 2% ofB3s come back as B5s after the VABB. also don't forget they are sucking the whole lot out. Like she said it's diagnosis and treatment all in one go. If I had a lump I'll be honest I'd probably be alot more concerned personally.

But you will be just fine!

I haven't had my appt date yet as apparently there's no hurry and I go away on Tuesday for a week. Also I still have a lump post core biopsy so I need to wait for that to go too I think. But all in all Itz all good.

I have a friend waiting for her biopsy results too it's worrying times I know xx

  • I’m having an open surgical biopsy, I wasn’t offered vacuum.... it’s just an absolute mind game isn’t it! I thought B3 was positive but he said there’s still a chance that it could be cancer on removal... and I have two so there’s twice as much worry in my mind! It’s been nearly 3 weeks since my biopsy’s and I’m getting breast pains still which I can’t imagine is from the biopsy!

Im glad you’re so positive, I hope some of your positivity rubs off on me! I have a 1 year old and all I can think is the worse!

    xx

  • I have a 5yr old!

I have pain too however I went in for pain initially but according to my consultant the pain wasn't anything and the calcifications were found by accident. My biopsy was weeks ago today

Feel free to pm if you like and keep. Positive xx

  • Hi can you help me.  I've just had a vacuum biopsy but no one told me that it is treatment only that it was a way of collecting more samples. I'm now getting worried as it seems that on here people are talking of it being a treatment.. so far all I know is I had a mammogram which showed calcification and a first biopsy which showed abnormal and suspicious cells.  They told me they had to find out more about my suspicious cells hence the second biopsy. Can anyone tell me if there is anything else going on? I'm waiting on my vacuum biopsy results

    Thanks
