Bone pain, swollen shin, chest pain etc. Looking for advice

Hi,

Ive had lots of symptoms over the last few months, including left sided chest & shoulder pain, spitting blood, oral thrush, angioectasia in stomach, bowel problems, weight loss, night sweats (only for a few days), ear pain, tinnitus, left sided numbness & tingling in my face, leg and arm and pain in the bones of my shins, especially the left side. My left eye has dropped slightly and my pupil in that eye is bigger in certain lights. My left lower leg is now swollen and the pain has also started in my lower left arm. The pain comes and goes throughout the day. I also had a large raised lymph node under my ear a few weeks ago but it went down after a week.

I’ve had the following tests:

CT scan abdomen - clear

Abdominal ultrasound - clear

chest x Ray - clear

endoscopy - thrush found and angioectasia

Mri neck - clear

nasal scope - found bleeding ulcer in nasopharyngeal area but second scope cannot see it anymore.

bloods - IG A raised 3.6

I’m awaiting a head mri and trying to stay positive but I just have this gut feeling that something is majorly wrong. (Before all of this started last October I have never had any health issues at all).

My bone pain really concerns me along with the swelling. I had my bloods redone last week for fbc and none profile, I’m hoping they will come back okay. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what all of this could possibly be?

  • HI, really sorry to hear about waht youve been going through. You are the first person I have stumbeld across with very similar systemic and places of symptoms to me. Keep strong and I hope they find what is causing both yours and mines nightmare.

  • Hi Dan, so sorry you are going through all of this. It’s a few months since my symptoms were at their peak and I hope it’s reassuring to say that I’m feeling much better. Both of my MRI scans were clear which was a huge relief. I took 6 weeks off work which didn’t really help as all sorts of thoughts were going through my mind. When I went back to work it made me focus on something else and gradually (very gradually) I started feeling better. I still have leg pain but I’ve put on nearly 2 stone so back to my normal weight. I honestly don’t know what was wrong, I had so many physical symptoms, I am awaiting ultrasound on my leg and I think they are going to monitor my IGA bloods as it was abnormally high but I just hope that I continue to feel well. I hope this gives you some hope that things sometimes just go away. The night sweats, chest pain, weight loss, blood, lymph node etc is still a huge worry but I try to put it to the back of my mind & take each day as it comes. Hope you get answers and start to feel better soon

  • Hi

Just read your posts as I was wondering if my problems are nasopharyngeal

You haven't been in for a while so may not see this but I just wanted to ask how you are and if they found out the cause of your problems

    Best wishes
