Hi new here

I’m 51, female and 17 days into recovery following a hysterectomy.  During my time in hospital for the hysterectomy I had to have a CT scan.  The following day I has a visit from two Doctors from the Urology Department telling me my scan is going to be reviewed by their MDT meeting, as they found something on my right kidney.  Couldn’t really take it all in, as I’d just had this operation and was woozy etc.  Three days after I got home, I got a call from the Urology Department saying they’ve looked at the scanning the MDT meeting and it’s decided I should have it taken out!!!  And could I go to the hospital that day, the call came around two ish.  Of course I couldn’t go, it’s a 45 minute drive and I was in so much pain, so I’ve got an appointment next Tuesday to see a Consultant. But, the thing is, I’ve had no symptoms regarding my kidney, no pain no blood in my urine nothing, so to say I’m a little apprehensive is an understatement!!!  Sorry for the long post, and if anyone offers any advice thanx in advance

  • Hi there ...

Unfortunately, there's no easy way round the waiting .. we all wait for everything ... tests and results and operations... and treatment .. think that's why they put us in  " waiting rooms "  and wer called patience ... it's just trying to keep busy ... filling as much of the time as you can ...

Your not alone .. we all know how scary it is ... but it does come round .. trouble is then there's usually more waiting for the next step ... Chrissie x
