This is absolutely fantastic news. I am delighted for you. Your reaction is very much the norm. I think that a lot has to do with the fact that you've had a wait to get your tests done, although you've been lucky to get the results so quickly.

When you are waiting, your mind goes into overdrive and thinks of the worst case scenario. then suddenly, here you are being told that you are clear. It's hard to take it all in  and, many of us have doubts at this stage. Fortunately, they are very seldom wrong at the breast clinics, so relax and convince yourself that you are OK. Having said this, please remember to check yourself regularly for any changes and, come back straight away if you notice any.

I sincerely hope that you don't see any further changes. You are due some real celebrations this weekend - Enjoy!.

I'm so happy my partner lives away as I found the dent in my breast by sending him a hot pic Anyway when I noticed it I googled and it showed up as can be related to breast cancer!!! I now have an appointment on Tuesday to get a breast screening, I hope u are well x

I am sorry to hear about the dent in your breast and hope that it turns out to be nothing untoward. I am glad to hear that you have acted quickly and that you have an appointment for the breast clinic on Tuesday. I hope that this goes well for you.

You probably won't get any test results until a week or so after this appointment. I would advise you to bring someone with you to these appointments if you can.

I have the same a very slight dent, I only went to see the nurse just to be cauteous not really expecting it to be anything it is so slight,  I am waiting for a appointment for tests.

Welcome to our forum. I am so sorry to hear about your recent findings. You will usually be seen at the breast clinic within 2 weeks and, you may yet find that it is nothing untoward. There are different things that could be responsible for this. Out of every 8 people referred to the clinic, only 1 of them will turn out to have breast cancer.

I have also noticed a small dent in my breast whilst raising my arm to dry my hair last week. It's about 1cm in diameter and very  noticeable. I immediately contacted my doctor & sent a photo so we could discuss in our phone consultation. Unfortunately due to lockdown I could not have a face to face appointment. He has referred me to the clinic this Friday as an urgent referral. My brain goes through a million scenarios from it's probably nothing to how long have I got, so reading your message to Kat has definitely eased my fears this morning... Thankyou x

Hi Charlie,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms, but glad to hear that you have acted quickly and have an appointment for the breast clinic on Friday. We all go through a plethora of emotions and scenarios and somehow or other, always seem to rest on the worst case scenario. Fortunately, this seldom turns out to be the case.

If the worst comes to the worst, it's not the end of the world. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years, but I am still living a fulfilled life. Treatment is so much better than when my mum had the same 10 years before I was diagnosed. Sadly, she died from secondary cancer, but I believe that this was in part due to the fact that she was never once brought back for review after her initial surgery. Still, she lived for 12 years from diagnosis.

Try to keep yourself busy to take your mind off all that is happening. This doesn't all have to be work related. Do something you enjoy doing. Just keep away from 'Dr Google', as he will only scare you rigid for no purpose. It is so unsettling just now, when you don't know what is happening, but things will improve once you get a diagnosis either way.
