A little worried..

sorry if this is to much info but I’m freaking out after the doctors appointment (waiting for a referral)

About 4 months ago I went to go poop and couldn’t because it was stuck eventually things moved along with a bit of help.. since then I’m either unable to go, passing flat poop or suffering diarrhoea..

about three months ago when I was helping move things along to pass a motion I noticed that the tip of my finger could feel a slight lump up there. Fast forward and a lot of embarrassment I finally plucked up the courage to feel again and it was bigger and way more noticeable. I went to the gp who could also feel it.. I’m being referred but now I’m anxious and feeling super panicky that it’s cancer.

I’ve just watched my dad battle cancer so It’s stuck in my mind.

I’m sure it’s highly unlikely to be able to feel bowel cancer yourself right? I’m sure it’s nothing but I can’t switch my brain off

  • As I noticed this is your first post with us I wanted to pop by to say hello and welcome you to the forum, Spooniebaloony.

I see from your post that you are worried about some symptoms you have, especially after seeing your ndad battling cancer and that I'm sure was a stressful experience.  Having said that, the best thing to do is to go and see your doctor about these problems, which I'm glad you already done.

When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers on an online forum, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better.  And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

    I hope this is helpful.

    All the best,
