Tamoxifen Struggles

Hi,

I started taking Tamoxifen on Saturday, I have been taking 10mg.

On Sunday I was fine, but on Monday I felt really poorly.  Sick, really bad acid, aches, woozy and spacey.  I took the tablet at 10pm on Saturday and Sunday, so yesterday I decided to try taking it at 10am.  I was fine up until 3pm and then it started again.  It's now 9am and I'm still suffering.

I don't know if I can bring myself to take today's tablet.

I didn't expect to feel so poorly so quickly and ask my self what damage this is doing to me.

How long can I expect to feel like this for?

My predict score was less than 1% (0.8%) is it worth it?

Thank You

Julesy

    Hi Julesy,

    Welcome to the forum.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with Tamoxifen so soon into your treatment. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 9 years. The first timead Tamoxifen and had a similar effect to start with. However this settled down after a couple of weeks and I managed to take itfor 1 year. After that I was diagnosed with another cancer and had a double mastectomy followed by Letrozole. I took this for 6 years before I stoppped taking it in July, 2017.

When are you due to see your consultant next? If you have a while to wait, why not phone your breast care nurse for advice?

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
