Hello Rose79.  The thing is that none of us who post here have medical qualifications and a lump on your scalp could be caused by so many things!    It could be a kind of cyst or a hair follical that has got infected but I don't know either!  The general advice from the NHS is that you should see your GP if a lump has not changed in two weeks (but even then they are still saying it could have many causes!).  I am sorry you are so worried however but your GP is the best person with whom to discuss your worries (and of course you are already planning to do this).  Best wishes.  Annie
