Small hard lump on the top of my right testicle

So I seen a testicular cancer ad the other day and I decided to check my self just out of curiosity and on the top of my right testicle I have a small hard lump it’s smaller than a pea but it’s still there it has no pain and I’m not sure what it could be? I’m 15 so I don’t know if it’s something to do with puberty or something like that?

i’ve noticed i have had it for a while so it’s nothinh recent but I’m just not sure what it is? I’m tried to do research on it but I couldn’t find anything?

Any suggestions? Or know what it could be?

  • I've got the same thing. The 'lump' is at the very top of my right ball, but I can feel the same 'lump' at the top of my left ball, so I think it's normal and I'm not too worried.

I do get this on and off ache in the right testical though, sometime it's not there for days/weeks, and then it'll just come back out of no where.

I've not gone for any scans or anything, or a check up... I need to change my GP from my old address first, but if any of you get anything back, do tell!

  • Hi Shaneb

I would still get it checked out sooner rather than later that's what your GP is there for and as much as we don't like to hassle them it's there job and they have seen it all before. As I said I have had two scans and a few gp appointments which does give you some piece of mind. Is the lump near or on the epididymis?

  • Yeah I keep telling myself I'll go get it checked, just to be certain, but I'm yet to update my GP to where I live now, so I've got to arrange to get that done first.

I think i last had them checked around 3 years ago, and everything was fine then.

I think the lump IS the epididymis tbh. They're about the same size on both balls, but it's the occasional ache'ing in the right one that gives me the worry.

Like you said, and like I know, I really do need to get re-registered and just get it checked.

  • i know this is almost 2 years on but i recently started checking my balls for lumps etc,

Ive felt a sensitive lump at the top of my right testicle but not on my left. I've been to doctors and they've said it's most likely just your epididymis as it's sensitive and not painful but i can't feel it on my left side.

Can the epididymis be different sizes?

    Thanks :)

  • I'm not a doctor but bearing in mind the poem about the old man from Devizes , I think it's quite possible for these parts of the male anatomy to be different sizes.

  • How you get on after mate I have same issues

  • I have also recently found a bean-sized, soft, painless, lump above my left testicle. I am only 14 as well and struggling to find information about it, and also wondering if it is something to do with puberty.

The only info I have found on it is that it could just be something called a 'Spermatic Cyst', it is a typically painless, noncancerous (benign), fluid-filled sac in the scrotum, usually above the testicle.

But I am still slightly concerned. Any knowledge would be amazing.

I am suffering from same symptoms I think It could be Epididymitis

Epididymitis is where a tube (the epididymis) at the back of the testicles becomes swollen and painful. It's often caused by an infection and is usually treated with antibiotics.

If the testicles are also affected, it may be called epididymo-orchitis.

    Check if it's epididymitis

    Symptoms of epididymitis may include:

sudden or gradual pain in 1 or both of your testicles (balls)

the bag of skin containing your testicles (scrotum) feeling tender, warm and swollen

a build-up of fluid around your testicle (a hydrocele) that feels like a lump or swelling

You may have other symptoms depending on the cause, such as difficulty peeing, or a white, yellow or green discharge from the tip of the penis.

  • I started checking myself out too, I discovered I have this lump too on my right testicle, on the top. I cannot find it however on my left one, my researches have lead me to "epididymis" which is a natural thing? Part of our anatomy? I have been rolling both my testitcles like it shows on the guide, I can't feel any lumps or bumps on the side of any of them, just this soft lump on the top of my right testicle, when I squeeze it, it feels just like squeezing the testicle, it's tender, glad you went to the doctor, I will do that too, but I believe it's the epididymis and nothing to worry about. I watched a YouTube video that it said that it's normal to feel those lumps on the bottom or the top of a testicle, they're the epididymis. Thank you for sharing this.

  • For several weeks I noticed the feeling in mine changed and one dropped and the chord became much bigger/more pronounced almost like it twisted. In the middle of the night I was rushed into hospital in agony with a massive lump on my right tescticle. They did an ultrasound and found I had a scrotal hernia, as well as something called tescticular microlithiasis. I am waiting to have an operation for the hernia, however the microlithiasis is caused by calcium deposits and needs regular monitoring because it puts you at slight increased risk of developing germ cell tescticular cancer. If you ever get severe pain in one, go to A and E immediately because it can be very serious if it is something like a torsion. Thank you all for sharing.
