I’m worried if it’s a brain tumour or just health anxiety.

Ok, basically I’m a 17 year old male. I was getting heart palpatations and chest pains so we went to a&e. They did tests and said I was all fine and it was proabably anxiety/stress. I do get stressed socially, but hadn’t had a huge amount of stress recently to cause this, but they say it could be a build up.

Since then they’ve gone away but now I’m nauseas, tired and have a lot of tension in the back of my head. I then felt my head and feel a lump on the part of my head where the tension is. Today my left eye has been hurting as well, and the headaches have been more icepick.

I’m extremely worried that it’s a tumour and not just stress, I became depressed in 2015 alongside tinnitus and have bottled it up. I’ve been getting worse memory and have had behaivoural changes in that time.

I feel like this all suggests a tumour. I have been using dr Google so that’s why I’m so worried. I’m going to the GP tomorrow but I’m afraid they won’t take it seriously and will treat it as just anxiety.

Should I be worried.

Thanks for reading.

Didn’t know what category to put it in.

i am a 17 year old female and this sounds like I have written it myself, I have health anxiety and what you have said is exactly how I feel, when I think about googling symptoms I try to distract myself instead and put off googling, googling symptoms is a very bad idea because 1) they are not always reliable 2) they always come up with the worse possible scenario 3) your mind is very powerful and can convince yourself that you may really have there symptoms and your body goes into “super scanner mode” where you pay very close attention to your physical sensations which can amplify the sensation.

  • Hi guys! I'm not sure if this thread is still going but I'm 23 and have severe health anxiety!!! Recently I've convinced myself I have a brain tumour due to eye tests! I was getting headaches so went to get my eyes tested and they told me I had a swollen optic nerve and that I was being referred to the hospital with in 2 days! During those 2 days I was never off google, to the point I couldn't eat or sleep and didn't even want to shower ( gross ) Eventually I went to the hospital where they said my eyes were absolutely normal and I had nothing to worry about and that my optic nerve was pale looking which can come up as swollen to opticians. I was ok for a day or 2 then started getting bad pressure in the lower back of my head I phoned nhs 24 numerous times and was seen at out of hours where they tested my nerves and it was all put down to stress and anxiety. I then started obsessing over my eyes again so went AGAIN for another eye test at a different opticians they said my lenses were out of date and I needed stronger ones. Other than that my eyes were healthy. Literally 4 hours after my app I started seeing a black ring in my left eye vision but it quickly went away I was frantic and phoned the opticians and they want to see me tomorrow. Following this I had a massive argument with my partner resulting in more stress and have pressure again in the same part of my head. I'm so so scared they have missed something in my eye exam and that I have a brain tumor :( I know it sounds irational but that's how bad my anxiety is at the moment
