Small Lump on thigh

Hi this is the first time I have ever used a forum so not sure what to expect.  I found a small lump close to the side of my thigh 3 weeks ago and have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning.  The thing is I feel a bit embarrassed about going as it’s only smallish. I have been getting quite a lot of burning nerve pain in my lower leg and into my ankle (have a bad back and sometime suffer from intermittent nerve pain but not as bad as this) could this be related or am I just panicking? I hope this doesn’t sound to trivial x

    I noticed no-one had replied to your post yet so I just wanted to stop by and find out how your appointment went the other day. I hope the doctor was able to answer your questions and put your mind at ease about the lump but you're more than welcome to keep chatting to us about this if you find it helps.

    Hi Steph, thank you for your response.  The doctor is sending me for an ultrasound to check what it is. She isn’t sure if it’s attached to my muscle, I’m sure ultrasound will help find out what it is.  I have been getting a lot of burning pain below my knee and into my ankle, do you think this is linked?

    Hi worrieddotcom, 

    I'm not medically trained so I can't answer your question I'm afraid but hopefully the ultrasound will be able to tell you more.

    It's tough not knowing the cause of your symptoms but you're in the system now and it shouldn't be too long before your appointment comes through.
