Awaiting results

hi everyone,

I had my 1st smear test age 26 on the 18th of December and 2 weeks later I received a letter that I have high grade dyskaryosis (moderate). I went for my colposcopy on the 31st of January and during the appointment the doctor underwent the biopsy and I was told I should receive my results within 3 weeks.

I can’t help but wonder in fear as I don’t know what to expect. I was wondering if any of you ladies can give me any advice on what to expect in terms of results? I’m dreading I’ll receive a call with bad news or the results won’t be good either. I’m staying positive but I can’t help but be doubtful.

Thank you ladies!

  • Hello Aquarius26,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat.

Being doubtful is only natural, as you wait for these results, but try to remain positive. You're still well within the three-week waiting period so it might help to keep yourself busy with everyday tasks and talking with a friend or family member might ease your worries. If you want to find out a bit more on what happens next, we do have some useful information on our website

    I hope it helps.
