Am sorry that you are here under these circumstances but hopefully you will find good advice and support here.

I was also diagnosed with tonsil cancer and am now into my 8th week post treatment and in recovery period.

I started a blog to log progress on my journey and to try and help at least one person. There are a few us now that share updates/tips/advice etc and I hope a good source for you and your husband to have a look at

Thank you for your reply, I've read your blog, along with the posts from the rest in this exclusive club, and it is very helpful, thank you to all of you.  

The RIG goes in this week and treatment starts at the end of the month (early slots for RT also!)  

The advice on fluids, ensures, swallowing exercises, pain relief etc has been taken on board.

Just dropped by to say welcome and glad our little group has been of some help before you start your journey. We wish we had known about this site before my husband started his treatment. He had 5 cycles of Cistplatin chemotherapy and 30 fractions of VMAT radiotherapy over 6 werks and then a neck dissection. Although the treatment is tough and difficult it is definitely worth it - he has been in remission for 2 1/2 years and remains cancer free.

Wishing  you all the best for the RIG insertion- the process itself is fairly painless but the wind pain afterwards can be troublesome- peppermint water in warm water can help.
