    Hi Lucy,

Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry for the reason that you have had to join us here. One bit of good news is that the cancer hasn't spread elsewhere in the body. Do you know what type of breast cancer you have and what grade it is?

It is good to see that you are doing everything you can to help yourself along your cancer journey. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 9 years and was advised to stop taking some homoeopathic and alternative medicines when I started my cancer treatment. This was because some of these products react with allopathic medicines.

I know that you are anxious to get started on Turmeric as soon as possible. It is not that long now until 16th January and, it might be best to wait until then and have a talk with your consultant about this first. There are different types of chemotherapy and it is possible that some of them may react whilst others maybe don't.

If you are determined to start before then, why not phone your breast care nurse and ask for her advice? I must stress that I am not a medic and, know nothing about any reactions with Turmeric, but you are better to be sure before you start taking it.

Please let us know how you get on and, remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Lucy,

i was diagnosed in June with stage 3 lung cancer. Just like you I wanted to take some control and wanted to completely change my diet, including eating bucket fulls of turmeric. However, I was told that until I had finished treatment of operation, chemo and radiotherapy then not to as no research has been carried out to check if turmeric lessens effect of treatment. So I have waited until now when treatment has finished. I am going to speak to a nutropath to find out what best for my body.

Good luck with getting through. The only way I have coped is to take each minute of each day of treatment as it comes. Planning anything becomes impossible and incredible frustrating

  • i have breast cancer not lung, thank you for this advice I will not be taking anything until I know 100% I know it’s going to be safe. X
