Hi all.
My father in law (75) has just had a prostate cancer diagnosis, with a 9/10 on the Gleason scale. (4&5).
The hospital he's under haven't been great at all at imparting information, so I'm hoping someone here can help.
The triage nurse who broke the news gave a confused statement about him needing to have radio therapy, but then said that he needed to be on hormone (Oestrogen) treatment, then asked if he'd had a bone scan yet.... Clearly not as she had just given the first diagnosis!
He was sent home with no information other than a phone number for support at the hospital.
Can anyone advise how long he had to wait for the bone scan, and if this appointment is sent by letter or by phone?
Is there anything else we don't know that we should know about? He's currently under the urologist but do the also act as the Oncology specialist in this area?
We are feeling very much in the dark, and any help on process would be really helpful.
Thanks all
Casper.
