Second time around

Hello just dropping by to ask a quick question.

This is my second time BC in 6 years. I've had surgery, now having hormone treatment and radiotherapy.

I would like to know if anyone has experienced nausea after radiotherapy?

I am feeling very sick

  • I had quite, what felt like, severe nausea all the way through radiotherapy despite being told that I shouldn’t be getting it. I pushed for and got anti nausea tablets, didn’t stop it completely but took the edge off it.

I was told to try eating ginger biscuits each day before I went, that didn’t help either.

I found it gradually went away over a period of about eight weeks after the end of treatment.

  • Hi, thanks for your reply. On my 5th of 15 and I feel so sick. Going to see GP later today as it's making me miserable. I've only eaten melon in last 48 hrs and that can't be good. I will try ginger as mint tea not helping. It seems to affect some people more than others.

  • You’re not the only one who has had this problem, [@Jbains]‍ had horrific problems with radiotherapy.

They need to start helping you with this, if you start losing too much weight you may have to be rescanned  and your dose recalculated as your body shape and composition might change and affect delivery of the beam.
