Hi All,
I am a 29 year old woman and have been recently diagnosed with a 6cm dermiod tumor, while on holiday, that an OBGYN specialist has advised that it needs to be removed as soon as possible.
I have done all the tests possible, from blood tests to 3 types of ultrasound and an MRI with substance. CA125 was well within limits, so I was advised that the chance of it being malignant are very low, but surgery is recommended asap.
All the tests were made at a private hospital outside the UK then I came back home with all the tests and went straight to the GP who made me do all the tests again. I came back from my holiday on the 21st October and I am currently waiting for the MRI appointment which is on the 7th of January.
The reason I ended up at the doctor was because I was feeling sick and having pain in my back and right leg, nausea, vertigo, gained a lot of weight ( while playing tennis 3 4 times per week and doing karate twice per week),irregular periods and also I've lost a lot of hair. ( btw, I went to see the GP about 2 weeks before my holiday and she told me that I was just stressed) also my stomach doesnt seem to want to retain food normally. I even went on a banana and pretzels diet for two weeks as i couldnt hold anything else in and regurgitated.
Does anyone know how long it takes to have a laparoscopy with the NHS? I am really concerned that I will end up at the Emergency Room with a rupture or a torsion of my right ovary, as I am still not well, the symptoms have not faded away.
If you have had a laparoscopy how long were you in the hospital and how soon did you went back to work?
How long did it took to recuperate completely? I am a very active person and I miss doing sport.
Thank you
