Lost for words.....

I have so much going around in my head at the minute, it's all a jumble, but i'll try and stick to the facts.

At the end of August this year my dad was rushed into hospital with a suspected stroke, he had a seizure which left him with little sensation/movement on his right side.  After numerous scans and tests he has been diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread to his brain.  He recieved radiotherapy on seven brain tumours, scans failed to find the primary in his lungs.

After thinking that things were under control he had another seizure recently and is back in hospital.  Again he has lost use of his right arm/leg, oncologist has said it's unlikely he will regain full use of them again.

I've come here because i know there will be people who have similar stories and can share experiences.

  • Hi, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. As the daughter of a mum with stage 4 inoperable lung cancer I can totally sympathise with your situation. While I’m not sure I can offer you any reassurances I can say that, two years and various treatments and no end of dark days later, you do learn to live with it and taking one day at a time you do manage to hold it together and muddle through. I just wanted to send you a huge hug and to say you will be in my thoughts.
