I can only tell you of my dad's experience. He had an acoustic neuroma which was a neuroma on the nerve leading from the brain to his ear. From what we were told, a neuroma is a tumour of the nerve tissues &, in the main, they are benign. My dad had his removed because of it's location & because they needed to biopsy it to ensure it was benign. 

It may be that the radiologist thought your lump is a neuroma because of the 'electric current' sensation you felt - becaue neuromas are in the nerve tissue they tend to cause a tingling or burning sensation. I hope this helps & that your FNA results come back clear.
